Sound Experimentation Leads to First Word

So, I know she's only four months old, but this is what happened: I was holding her sitting upright on my leg and my mom was crouching next to my rocking chair and we were talking. I think Starlynn was tired of being ignored and she shouted "hhhiiiiiiiiiiiiii!"

Now, I know she doesn't know what she said, but she said it. I think she hears that word the most. It's usually the first word people say to her 3 or 4 times. And, it is the first word on all of her Your Baby Can Read DVDs.

She's been experimenting with the "i" vowel. And it turned into "hi".

We thought it was pretty cute, and we're looking forward to more sound experimentation.
